In Baked In Seattle by Shaw Sander, Annalee, a woman raised in the Sunshine culture, moves to Seattle, Washington where she works for FedEx. Over the years, Annalee has had many lovers as well as an ex-husband with whom she has two children but never seems to find the love she is looking for. One of her friends falls ill and goes missing while another tragedy awaits her back in Chicago, forcing her to take a short break from Seattle, leaving her new life behind for a little while. Can Annalee cope with the mountain of problems that have her emotionally torn? Will she ever get a long enough break to work on her writing? How will she get herself back into her normal life and find a way to accomplish the things she set out to do in the first place? Between work, comforting her friends and allowing herself to be comforted, will Annalee ever find anyone to love that can live up to or surpass her old flames?
Adventure, drama, and very lightly provocative with suspense and comedy, Baked In Seattle by Shaw Sander has it all! The plot is easy to follow even as it takes twists and turns the reader does not expect. The characters are easy to get to know and love because every single one of them has very well developed background stories of their own that intertwine within the main story. I recommend Sander’s Baked In Seattle to anyone who loves to read a culturally diverse story that pulls the reader along by the heartstrings as problems arise and are resolved.
