Blood Garnets and Murder by Geeta Kakade is the story of two women who may be old, but they are not senile, especially when it comes to finding the person who killed innocents. Maya has a holistic center called Nithya Shanti where people can come to get treatments as well as rejuvenate their minds and souls. While Maya is running an ethical center, a woman named Apple feels as if it is a place where people are conned out of their money. While she is trying to gather all the evidence she can get, a person is killed in cold blood. Soon both Maya and Apple realize that this is no coincidence and they put their differences aside to find the person behind it. It is not going to be easy, but they both know that they cannot stop. They are old, but they have their intelligence and their experience to help save lives and find the killer. Can these two ladies find the culprit in time or are they literally punching above their weight?
Blood Garnets and Murder turned out to be such a rollercoaster ride, one that I hoped would never end. I absolutely adored both Maya and Apple; these two women are so different from each other yet they make such a great team. Apple is sassy while Maya is the calm and collected one. They made the story fun, enjoyable and an absolute kicker. I must say, the author did a great job in writing such a cohesive novel where every character had their own story; everyone had their own purpose to serve and added layers to the story. The element of mystery was great, the character development was brilliant and the overall feel of the novel was just amazing. I loved this wonderful novel!
