Cast out into the harsh desert, Keera struggles to survive by hunting the scarce wildlife and robbing the few travelers that pass by. Her life changes when the traveler she tries to rob turns out to be the vicious warrior known as the Viper. Keera escapes his clutches and makes her way to the city of Kelvaden, the only place safe for exiles like her. Caught on opposite sides of a war, both Keera and the Viper want to save the desert but can they do it when the answer might lie in the magic they share? Blood of the Sands by S.C. Grayson is the ultimate enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance with the Viper leading his growing army to destroy the one place Keera feels safe, the city of Kelvaden.
I was hooked by Blood of the Sands from the first page with the descriptions of the desert. S.C. Grayson’s creation of the desert as a character is dazzling and drew me in right from the start. The Ballan Desert is magical and mysterious and feels like the third main character. I kept reading to see what the desert would do next. Keera and the Viper are beautifully created with rich backstories. I love that they have relatable aspects. They feel like real people and that makes the book exceptional. I got lost in the world that S.C. Grayson has created because of these characters. The plot is ingenious and the world is unique. Blood of the Sands was simply impossible to put down.
