Bloodsucking Bogans by Tabitha Ormiston-Smith welcomes you to Dingo Flats, where the infamous Murphys are and always will be trouble. For policewoman Sam, that means pullovers and chaotic visits to the Murphy residence. Sam is more than capable of doing her job, but her friends feel that an intervention is necessary. She hasn’t been on a date since coming back from the academy, so the girls feel right in setting her up on a date with the cute vet, Dr. Gordon Somerville. Well, Sam would rather deal with the nefarious activities of the Murphys than that. But even she has to admit Dr. Somerville is cute. However, being a policewoman at heart, Sam decides that love can wait for now; the Murphys are getting out of hand, and how do their greyhounds, Kylie and Danni, keep disappearing from a Fort Knox tight dog pound? No, something weird is going on, and Sam plans to find out exactly what it is, even if it means having to shoot someone.

Funny and light in tone, Bloodsucking Bogans is the type of book one reads when spending the afternoon curled up in a comfortable chair. The alluring character of Dr. Somerville is quite a distraction, and it's cute to see Sam fighting her obvious attraction to him. The Murphys are hilarious, with larger-than-life personalities that jump out of the pages, resulting in bellyaching laughter. Not to mention their two gorgeous greyhounds, Kylie and Danni. The mystery behind the Murphys is a shocker that readers will definitely not see coming. I recommend this laugh-a-minute novel to fans of cute animals and even cuter doctors. The storyline is interesting, and the plot is hilariously good.
