Boss Lady by Alex James is a fusion of contemporary sizzling romance and suspense. Joseph and Isabella Parker died in a plane crash. Alex and her brother, Joey, became orphans who would carry on their parents' legacy and build the business. Unfortunately, one hotel, Viva Bella, wasn’t thriving, and her brother hinted at selling it to their rivals, the Ramirez brothers. Alex couldn’t bear to see the hotel go, so she accepted the challenge to revamp the hotel. However, it seemed like the Ramirez brothers wanted the hotel for more than business purposes. When Alex hired Max Steele, a security expert, to upgrade the systems, all hell is let loose. Together, they will uncover the dirty secrets that link the rivals to her and the Parkers. Also, trust and love will have a say.
Boss Lady by Alex James is an intriguing novel that will appeal to lovers of romance and action. Laced with betrayal, trust, deceit, love, family, loyalty, and humor, James showcases the lengths people will go to gain power. The Ramirez brothers and Elliot showed this effortlessly. My favorite characters were Max and Joseph, even though his appearance was brief. Joseph was fearless, protective, and went all out for his family. The plot was interesting and made me want to keep reading. I loved the unpredictability and sharp plot twists, as Juan took me by surprise. Alex Parker was a lady and a boss; a perfect blend to protect the family and eliminate her enemies. James should write more starring this character.
