Bunky and the Enchanted Library by Michael Wesley Smither is a fun children's book that follows a young boy named Bunky. One day, Bunky is forced to clean his room, and he finds his library card. Bunky's grandma, Grandma Mary, comes over and together the two of them walk to the library. Grandma Mary tells Bunky to find some books that he would like to read. Bunky picks up a book with a picture of a plane on it. He opens the book and is instantly transported into an airplane, which he has to co-pilot. He opens a second and is transported into a train. He opens a third and gets chased by a T-Rex. What other adventures will Bunky have?
I really enjoyed reading Bunky and the Enchanted Library by Michael Wesley Smither. The book is well written and descriptive and is full of profound quotes about reading. The book shows how important reading is, and shows how much fun it can be with many exciting parts. The story is full of likeable characters, like Grandma Mary, who helps the boy discover how much fun reading can be. The illustrations are very well drawn, and clearly depict each scene and each adventure. The pictures are also very colorful. The story is well developed and well thought out. Parents will enjoy reading this book to their child, and children will want to read this book again and again. I would definitely recommend this to all young readers.
