Caleb’s Song by Kathleen Ryder is a wonderful romance novel built around love and family. It will appeal to lovers of great romance stories. Superstar Caleb and his brother, Sam, were in their car after a night at the club. Right there, they had an accident that claimed Sam’s life. Caleb blamed himself and went into seclusion. His destination was the Bianchi’s bed-and-breakfast at Beryl’s Creek. There he met Gabby, who was dealing with her demons. She had a struggling bakery to run and a strained relationship with her mother among other issues. Gabby was also heartbroken, and the last thing on her mind was romance. Caleb wasn’t in the romance market either, but never say never! Caleb and Gabby will discover that they’re only as strong as their hearts permit.
Caleb’s Song by Kathleen Ryder is a novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Continuity was seamless, and the dialogues were effortlessly smooth, keeping me engaged. The book incorporated elements like self-absorption, sacrifice, selfishness, and courage. Kathleen took a romantic plot and built around it family and real-life struggles. This approach gave the book depth and style. I took a lesson from this novel that many parents also need to learn. As parents, we should never show favoritism towards any of our children, especially at the expense of their siblings. Such acts will create strife, anger, and a subdued spirit in the victim. They will also be resentful or even hate the parent and sibling. I loved Kathleen’s word usage, which was potent enough to activate my imagination. This is a beautiful book! I loved it.
