In Capitol Sins by Bill Halamandaris, evil people have gone after Theo Alexander. His life has been in danger, and they even abducted the girl he loves, Taylor. Theo was the director of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, but the committee was disbanded after the death of Senator Calvin Colgate. Theo is determined to avenge his death. Luckily, the governor appoints his wife, Caroline Colgate, to replace him. Caroline wants her husband avenged. She forms an ad hoc committee to continue her husband’s work. The committee is not under the Senate's control, which gives Theo an advantage in pursuing the crooks without constraints. Theo goes after various people, like Riccas, who is a mob boss, and various politicians who are involved in various illegal businesses. How will things unfold?
Capitol Sins: Blood on the Capitol by Bill Halamandaris is a thought-provoking read that got me thinking about how some elected representatives betray the electorate to serve the interests of a few. The ultra-rich and big corporations should not influence legislative processes. The characters were well-developed, and I loved the writing style, which was crisp, engaging, and filled with well-crafted dialogue, which helped to bring the story to life. Bill also ensured all the events were vividly captured, and readers will also appreciate the flawless flow of the plot, which ensured no room for confusion. This was a very informative read on how the institutions entrusted to protect the citizenry can be a cause of harm, and I look forward to reading something else by this talented author.
