AI has already made a significant impact on several institutions fundamental to the functioning of society, education being one among them. Will it help enhance our learning capabilities, or will the human element in education be discarded forever in its wake? Sarah Chardonnens has had a remarkably varied career, making her mark as a musician, educator, and researcher. In The Learning Revolution, Chardonnens addresses the benefits and risks of AI in relation to education. The author urges educators to use AI as a tool for self-driven learning in the technological era, tailoring learning to individual needs and challenges. At the same time, she cautions that individual autonomy and intellectual growth shouldn't be lost in the process. You will learn about the SYNAPSE model, neural networks and deep learning, the role of emotions in decision-making, AI's ethical implications, and more.
The Learning Revolution is a must-read for today's educators, parents, and caregivers. AI has already changed, or will change, education forever, and to ensure human cognition remains a priority, we need to adapt ourselves to this revolutionary technology. I think a book like this will definitely help educators prepare themselves for the inevitable transformation in the educational framework. There were many highlights in the book for me. Sarah Chardonnens thoroughly explains how the learning process for AI differs from that of humans, with its lack of emotional depth being the primary difference. Furthermore, I liked how the author provided an objective list of pros and potential cons of AI's influence in education. The book is very accessible and easy to follow. I have learned a few new things about the mechanics of AI from this book. Highly recommended.
