In Charlie Armadillo National Parks Explorer: Rocky Mountain Trek to the Tundra by Holly Moore, Charlie the Armadillo is an outdoor explorer. He loved reading and studying various animals and nature and was happiest when he was outside searching for new adventures. This particular weekend Charlie is headed for the Rocky Mountain National Park in Denver, Colorado. He loves a good mission and this time he is exploring the different zones in the park. Charlie had heard stories from his grandpa about what animals live in the park. He wanted to see his favorite, a big horn sheep. The big day finally arrived. His family took a picture at the entrance to the park and off they went on their adventure. As Charlie explored the park, he saw elk, an owl, and marmots, but no big horn sheep. Charlie hiked up to the highest elevation of 42,005. He still didn't see a big horn sheep, but he didn't give up looking. When he was exploring the trails, he came across beautiful flowers and special plants, but still no big horn sheep. Charlie completed his adventure and earned a badge from the park ranger. Does Charlie ever see a big horn sheep?
Holly Moore has written an incredible adventure book for younger readers in Charlie Armadillo National Parks Explorer: Rocky Mountain Trek to the Tundra. It explores the Rocky Mountain National Park, along with its geographical features, animals, and plants. The author has brought Charlie, an armadillo who is adorable and adventurous, to life. Children will relate to him being brave, adventurous, and, best of all, a friend of nature. The illustrations by Natalie Blazhievska will captivate a younger reader audience. The pages are vibrant, colorful, and relatable to children of all ages. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend it to children and teachers. The geographical theme makes it a great addition to any home or school library.
