Cosmic Cat by Mollie Hunt is the sixth book in the Crazy Cat Lady series. Lynley enters uncharted territory when she attends Bridgetown Comic-Con where she meets various cosplayers. One such cosplayer is Captain Cat who introduces Lynley to his vigilante group called Planet Defenders. Before Lynley has a genuine chance to know the feline-inspired hero, Captain Cat is murdered and Lynley’s old friend from Friends from Felines is the primary suspect. Lynley knows her friend isn’t a killer, but as she dives into the philanthropist’s past, she uncovers a shocking connection to Captain Cat’s real identity. She’s left with only one option: use her sleuthing abilities to drive out the real killer. Along the way, she digs up a love triangle, hangs out with vigilantes fighting for the planet, and uncovers secrets about a shady pharmaceutical company.

Mollie Hunt brings to life another dazzling mystery that finds Lynley on her most unusual case yet at Comic-Con and a superhero cosplayer with a past full of secrets. It’s a new environment for her that is a little out of her element, but it also allows her to try something new and have some fun. The Comic-Con introduces a few new characters including two members of Captain Cat’s tribe, Bugman and Gorgon Girl. These characters are part of a vigilante group called Planet Defenders who take a hands-on approach to save animals and the planet and this draws Lynley into the group. As with the previous installments in the series, Lynley meets new cats that have specific roles throughout the mystery and play important roles during significant moments. Cosmic Cat is another brilliant installment in Lynley’s adventures with a mystery that brings her into the world of Comic-Con, cosplayers, and planet vigilantes where she meets new cats and new characters.
