Author’s Review — Cotton Sheets and Velvet Dreams

I didn’t write Cotton Sheets and Velvet Dreams in a quiet room with soft music and a cup of tea.

I wrote it in hospital chairs.
In treatment rooms.
In moments when my body was tired, sick, aching, and afraid.

I wrote it while enduring chemo and radiation therapies—when my strength was thin, my appetite was gone, and the world felt smaller than it ever had before. Some days, holding a pen or typing a sentence felt harder than it should have. But this story… this story kept calling me back.

This book became my lifeline.

I wrote it with a feeding tube in my stomach, when hunger haunted me in ways I had never known before. My body was starved—but writing this book fed me. Every paragraph became nourishment. Every scene became a small, quiet way of staying alive.

When the pain came, I stepped into these pages.
When the nausea rose, I followed my characters instead.
When fear tried to steal my peace, I returned to love, desire, laughter, and softness.

Cotton Sheets and Velvet Dreams gave me somewhere else to live while my body was fighting for its life.

Writing this story reminded me that tenderness still exists. That passion still blooms. That intimacy and beauty don’t disappear just because the body is struggling. In many ways, this book held me when I needed to be held.

Every romantic moment, every whispered confession, every brush of skin against skin was a reminder that I was still here. Still dreaming. Still worthy of pleasure, imagination, and joy—even in the middle of survival.

This novel is more than a romance.
It is a testament to endurance.
To creative spirit.
To choosing softness in a season of pain.

If these pages make you feel comforted, desired, or emotionally held, know that they once did the same for me.

I am grateful I wrote it.
I am grateful it carried me.
And I am grateful you are here to receive it.
