Courage the Cowgirl Way is a children's picture book written by Mary Fichtner with illustrations by Roz Fichtner. It tells the inspiring tale of a cowgirl facing challenges in her daily life. Confronting fears, low self-esteem, trauma, and failures, she is provided with encouraging words to overcome them. Through poetic words and Bible scriptures, she is reminded of her uniqueness and talents and encouraged to never give up. She knows she is special and must remain true to herself and God, following His guidance in every circumstance. By being faithful and remembering she is the Lord's child and His masterpiece, she is renewed and transformed. Becoming His vessel, she finds strength in her journey to shine His light in the world.
Courage the Cowgirl Way encourages resilience, self-acceptance, and the importance of faith, reminding young readers that they are unique and special in God’s Kingdom. It imparts lessons on authenticity and bravery that will resonate with readers of all ages. The poetic rhyming narration of the story gives it a rhythmic flow and musical quality, making the book engaging to read. Mary and Roz Fichtner did a great job with the storytelling and illustrations, creating a captivating read. The art perfectly complements the text and brings the cowgirl’s story to life. The separation of art and words in the design provides a clearer focus for children with reading difficulties, allowing them to concentrate on the text without being overwhelmed by visuals, making it easier to follow along and engage with the story. Overall, this is a great read and I encourage sharing it with your children to help them face their fears with courage and faith, fully trusting in God’s plan and protection.
