When Koa broke Prince Jax out of the prison in the Ivory Tower, he returned her memories to her, and now she has what she’d always wanted – the truth about what happened to her in Netherworld years ago. Just as Halston warned her again and again, the truth really does hurt. Dark Prophet (The Chronicles of Koa, Book Two) opens with Koa, Prince Jax, and his sister Evina trying to escape their enemies.

K.N. Lee delivers yet again with this second installment in the series. Koa’s mission from Book One continues. She and her allies must stop Bund the demon, prevent King Greggan from ruling the human world, and break her mother’s curse. The well developed plot moves at a fast pace and reveals more twists. It’s almost as if everything is happening at the same time, which is simply exhilarating. Lee maintains the same solid quality through her prose and characterization.

Fans of the series will find that Book Two is as entertaining as Book One. There are more raw emotions and internal conflicts from the characters. Relationships become much more complicated, in which both betrayal and sacrifice have occurred. It’s interesting to see the culmination of Koa’s relationship with Halston. Koa has always been passionate about stopping evil, about her feelings toward the one she loves, and about protecting her friends. This same passion has led her to be in the centre of many things, and now it is the catalyst for things to come in the next installment of the series, Lyrinian Blade.
