For everyone in Monstromeda, gazoo-flies were the most sought-after pets whose wart bursts were every monster’s dream. Davelbert and Ezroar, like other monsters, loved the gazoo-flies. However, their school had strict rules against carrying gazoo-flies from home but, like any other monster his age, Davelbert was mischievous and determined and not even the rules could stop him from catching the coveted flies while at school. Everything seemed to be going well until the gazoo-fly caught by Davelbert escaped and landed on their teacher! Fuming with anger, Ms. Roogamire decides to send both Davelbert and Ezroar to detention, but Monstromeda’s type of detention is not your normal detention. Melanie Michael's Davelbert and Ezroar’s Detention Dimensions is a thrilling story following Davelbert and Ezroar's adventures as they try to escape the adamant and selfish Fur Baron and still find their way home.
As book one of the Monstrameda Chronicles, Davelbert and Ezroar’s Detention Dimensions sets an exceptional foundation for other books to follow in the series. The story contains suspense, thoughtful humor, and incredible action while still containing lessons in the story for the young reader. Every page is well executed and the whole story is unique. I have no doubt it will appeal to any young reader with a love for adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed each scene, not forgetting the fascinating illustrations done by Uncle Dave Howard which were colorful, creative, and a fun representation of the characters in the book.
