Death Calls by K.K. Weakley is a dark fantasy about people with strange powers in different countries, such as Ireland and the United States. Victor Wright is a homicide detective with the gift of necromancy. His partner and seer, Joe Savage, has spent years hiding his ability to witness the future and isn't sure he wants to draw any more attention to himself. Molly Patterson is a young witch who has fallen into the sights of the demon Sekhet. Mandy Johnson is another witch and she has a secret. Veronica Young is a witch who, unlike many of her sisters, doesn't dream of death and chaos. When the younger generation of witches start to go missing, the other witches know they must band together. They join forces with werewolf Jimmy Knowles and fellow necromancer Sean MacDonald to join the war and discover the secrets that could save them forever.

Death Calls by K.K. Weakley is a dark witch story that touches on some deep topics like necromancy. There are many characters in this story and they are all well written. They came to life in a way that draws a reader into the story. It was chillingly realistic and it gave me goose bumps to think about how realistic this story is. With each new chapter, readers are taken deeper into the lives of Victor and Joe and their love for Veronica and Mandy. But when the demons come into town, that's when all hell broke loose and the story jumped off the page.
