Déjà Vu, God Loves You: Not Impossible by Adedayo Adeniji is a lovely collection of Christian faith-based poems that range from discovering who Jesus is to faith, trials, enjoying the gifts God gives, Mother Mary, and more. This small, but meaningful book is filled with the eternal messages found in the scriptures as well as references to great literary works and special songs. It also includes quotes from the Bible. Every reader is sure to be inspired by these short poems and reminded of God’s truths again and again – reminders everyone needs during easy and difficult times in our ever-challenging lives. The poems remind readers that God is who He says He is. These poems also encourage each reader to embrace the fact that Jesus died to free us from the things that trouble us.
Adedayo Adeniji references scripture in each of the poems, reminding readers that they will find the hope and love of Jesus in these scriptures. Precious Personally is a poem that references the names of God. Knowing the names of God helps us to know God intimately because each name is specific to God’s nature. The author also emphasizes the message to each reader with one particular poem, All to Jesus, I Surrender, driving home the message that we can all trust the one who died for us. It is endearing how Adedayo adds prose on the opposite page of the poem, which reinforces the message in the poem. Déjà Vu, God Loves You is a great and inspiring read for all Christians and even those who are curious as to why Christians love God so much.
