Destiny of the Lizardstone Scepter is the fourth book in Mark M. Even's Dragonstone Story series. After helping develop the 'oxy-ginators' and 'aqua-ginators' at the Lunar 1 base on the Moon, thirteen-year-old Mandy Mendez, a powerful witch, astronaut, and leader of the M-Force magical family team, returns home to Earth alongside her cousins. But when nefarious men attack the Complex searching for the evil sorceress Lu Long and the Lizardstones and take Mrs. Sparks hostage, Mandy has no choice but to face the Green Hand in the Sahara Desert. However, the Green Hand is too strong, and Mandy and her family and friends need powerful allies. Thena, the golden dragon, offers her support, but Mandy must visit Owya to become strong enough to defeat the Green Hand once and for all.

A thrilling action-adventure ride from start to finish, Destiny of the Lizardstone Scepter is a must-read for kids and young adult sci-fi/fantasy lovers. Jam-packed with action, mystery, and fantastical lore, Mark M. Even's narrative never takes its foot off the gas, with a plot filled with unexpected reveals and twists and turns that keep your eyes glued to the pages, wondering what's going to happen next. You don't want to put the book down when every page brings events and adventures that take the fast-paced narrative in a new direction. The characters are likable, and I found their inter-relationship dynamics very wholesome, particularly Mandy and her friends and extended family members. Overall, it's an absolute gem of a book and series for young fantasy/sci-fi readers.
