A fraudulent adoption is the turning point in the lives of four families in the thrilling suspense novel, Devil's Spring (Bittersweet Hollow Book 3), by Aaron Lazar. Due to tight family finances, Grace and her sister, Portia, have started working again. Portia's mother-in-law, Tessie, is happy to watch their babies for them. When a charismatic woman approaches Tessie at the store, claiming to be a photographer for a children's modeling agency, and offers her services, the families think the opportunity is too good to pass up. However, when Tessie takes the babies in for their photo session, she is drugged, and the children are stolen. Many miles away, Lollie is eagerly waiting for her two new children, unaware that they are victims of a kidnapping. Several weeks later, when Lollie's husband is found dead and the local police come in, the children's identities are discovered. However, Lollie is determined to reestablish her family. Can Grace and Portia keep their families safe and intact? Or will Lollie's dream of a family be realized, regardless of the risks?
Devil's Spring (Bittersweet Hollow Book 3) by Aaron Lazar is a gripping suspense novel. With several intriguing subplots intricately woven into the storyline, this book was difficult to put down. Added to that are engaging characters and one 'loco' antagonist that keeps the plot moving and the reader riveted to the pages. Although this is the third book in a series, it does well as a standalone. The author does a fantastic job of weaving significant details from the previous books into the story so that the reader is never lost. This is an incredible read, and I recommend it to those who are fans of suspense.
