Disconnect: A Saint Squad Novel is a work of fiction in the thriller, suspense, and action subgenres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience. Penned by author Traci Hunter Abramson, the action follows Navy SEAL Brent Miller and his team as they grapple with a new commander, Gardner, whose ambitions jeopardize their mission readiness. As Gardner's decisions endanger the squad, they face a familiar terrorist threat with unprecedented electrical capabilities, forcing them to battle on two fronts against daunting odds. This gripping journey into the high-stakes world of military operations and counterterrorism will have readers’ hearts in their mouths from the very start.

The novel has an immediate hook and an ongoing style of tension that immerses readers in the challenges faced by Brent Miller and his team, from navigating internal conflicts to combating external threats. This atmospheric tension is layered with dynamic descriptions of action, matching every scene perfectly to the attitudes and emotions of the characters within it. Traci Hunter Abramson's vivid descriptions and realistic portrayal of military tactics and camaraderie also cement the characters. I enjoyed the way that dialogue was used to showcase their varying attitudes to the mission, but also to move the plot along and explain a lot of useful exposition naturally. The intricate plot keeps readers guessing as the squad races against time to neutralize the threat and ensure the safety of the nation, and all that great emotional realism ensures that we’re rooting for them and invested every step of the way. Overall, Disconnect is a thrilling and thought-provoking read that leaves a lasting impression, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store.
