Willow's Rainbow Garden is a children's story written by Amy Yeatts with illustrations by Moran Reudor. It follows the story of Willow, a young girl who is excited to plant her own garden. Accompanied by her mother, Willow goes to the local garden center where she tries to collect as many flowers as possible. Willow wants her garden to be rainbow-like and looks for flowers that have the colors red, orange, and yellow, as if the sun is shining from them. Green flowers are a bit hard for Willow to find, but with the help of her mom, she finally finds them. Having added the blue and purple colored flowers, Willow comes back home in a hurry and plants all the flowers in her garden. As soon as she’s done, something magical happens that makes Willow realize she is not the only one who appreciates the beauty of her garden.
Willow's Rainbow Garden isn’t just a sweet story about a girl wanting her dream garden; it’s a lovely way for young readers to learn about the colors of the rainbow and the art of gardening. They will be introduced to cultivating and gardening tools like hoes. Grown-ups get something out of it too. They see how much it matters to be there for their kids, just as Willow’s mom sticks by her through her journey. Kids will be drawn to Willow. She is full of joy, imagination, and that little spark that feels familiar. The story really encourages them to slow down and notice the magic hiding in everyday life. Amy Yeatts keeps the language simple, so the story feels easy to read and inviting. The rainbow colors pop out of the pages, and the colorful illustrations pull you even deeper into Willow’s world. This is a wonderful read that will inspire your children to plant their own rainbow and have magical moments with nature.
