Dissonance Volume IV: Relentless by Aaron Ryan is for science fiction, horror, action, and adventure fans. It has been three years since humans defeated the murderous alien monsters called gorgons. The world starts to recover slowly. People leave the underground shelters or Blockades. But the president of the United States, Vance Cardona, receives an alarming report. An unidentified object heads to our solar system. Is it possible that the gorgons are coming back with a vengeance? Humans around the globe are prepared to meet unwanted guests. The deadly weaponry, Dissonant Tidal Flood, or DTF, is ready to protect Earth. Lieutenant Cameron “Jet” Shipley and Corporal Liam "Foxy" Mayfield return to stand by President Cardona, General Everett Carson, and Chief of Staff Miguel Monzon as the battle with the gorgons promises to be wild. President Cardona faces a hard moral choice while their ship approaches Earth.

Aaron Ryan narrates Dissonance Volume IV: Relentless from Vance Cardona's often ironic viewpoint. Those who haven't read the previous installments in this compelling sci-fi series can catch up with the events thanks to the detailed preface the author added to the book. Ryan pays great attention to the emotions of the characters, varying from hoping against hoping to the deepest despair, and makes the tension grow with every page. There is an intriguing conflict between Vance Cardona and the former US president and traitor, Jean Graham. Jean is a perfect villain—insidious yet strangely touching. This character is puzzling enough to get me hooked on the series. The author invites us to reflect on the necessity of the unity of humankind in the face of grave danger. The well-written dialogue, imaginative concept of gorgons, and enthralling, action-packed final part of the novel will impress seasoned science fiction and horror readers. I also recommend this book to fans of military-themed literature because of the skillfully described battle scenes.

In Dissonance Volume IV: Relentless, Aaron Ryan's young adult sci-fi series, Earth's hard-won survival is once again threatened by an impending alien invasion. Set in a post-apocalyptic 2045, humanity's fragile peace is shattered as a second alien craft, seeking revenge for Earth's resistance, arrives with deadly intent. Led by former President Vance Cardona and a brave team of survivors, humanity must face the terrifying gorgons in a relentless battle to protect what remains of civilization. Ryan's epic saga continues with action, suspense, and resilience as the survivors rally to fend off annihilation once again. This is an intense and gripping story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats throughout this latest installment, and it makes another fantastic addition to a series where the worldbuilding and high-stakes action just get bigger and better every time.

Aaron Ryan's attention to detail in creating a ravaged Earth feels authentic and immersive, with well-depicted landscapes that tell their own stories of survival and loss, but also feel like they're still teeming with life and possibilities, both good and bad. The dynamic characters are varied with strong and distinctive dialogue styles, and the close narration around them brings out true humanity that made me deeply invested in their struggle. Through the lens of Earth's fight against these formidable aliens, Ryan explores powerful themes of resistance and hope that resonate with current global challenges. What I also find particularly moving is how the characters' unwavering determination to protect their world mirrors our instinct to preserve what we hold dear, even in the darkest times, which is a message that sticks with you long after you close the book. Overall, Dissonance Volume IV: Relentless is a must-read for anyone who enjoys action-packed sci-fi with heart and depth, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

It has been nineteen years since the extraterrestrial creatures known as Gorgons first appeared in the skies. Some likened them to angels until the invasion proper began when they wiped out over eighty percent of the Earth's population. Shell-shocked survivors fought back and, after a terrible onslaught, managed to regain control of the planet. Vance Cardona is one of the lucky ones who survived the Gorgons. Circumstances have elevated him to lead what remains of America as the world rebuilds from the ashes. When he begins to believe the worst is over, he receives heartbreaking news: deep space satellites have captured evidence of a familiar threat approaching the planet. Vance must rally other world leaders for one final battle as humanity faces the ultimate extinction-level event in Aaron Ryan's Dissonance Volume IV: Relentless.

The fourth and final installment of Aaron Ryan's Dissonance series is a masterpiece. Ryan skillfully preserves a cohesive continuity throughout the series, providing an extensively detailed recap of past events to prepare readers for the unfolding narrative. This approach allows dedicated followers to stay aligned with the plot while welcoming science fiction fans looking for a riveting standalone. The character development is profound. He adeptly portrays Vance and his team's apprehensions about their tasks, emphasizing the mutual distrust among all parties in a race against time. The dialogue feels authentic, shifting between the technical exchanges about weaponry among fighters and the tender, romantic tones shared by family and friends facing inevitable goodbyes. A highlight of the novel is Ryan's masterful narrative style that seamlessly combines science with dynamic action sequences. Fusing all these unique factors with a rapid pace and subtle spiritual undertones, where characters seek help from a higher power, creates a captivating and immersive novel. Dissonance Volume IV: Relentless stands in a class of its own.
