Sharon Purtill was a stay at home mom and entrepreneur when she stumbled into publishing in 1998. That year, along with her husband, she wrote and published her first book. That book’s success took them both by surprise when it went on to sell tens of thousands of copies right out of their garage. Today, Sharon is an award winning author who publishes in multiple genres under a couple of different pseudonyms. Her passion for writing, family and a positive life motivates her to create books that she hopes will enrich the lives of others. She hopes to one day escape the cold, and write from a tropical beach somewhere where her biggest concerns will be sand sticking to her suntan lotion and an empty margarita glass. The story concerns a mother who is reading a bedtime book to her daughter. The mom expresses her feelings in tender rhymes, and they sail between planets. They dream of holding the world in their hands. They contemplate the deep blue of the oceans. This is a magical story that will let children dream that they can travel among the stars. Sharon Purtill shows us a beautiful way to say good night.
Mothers and daughters can do many things together. Every moment they share is special and they should take advantage of any time they spend with each other. It is important to get girls into the habit of reading. Dream With Me makes for pleasurable reading. It is a beautifully illustrated story and I liked the design of the images because they maintain a fine balance of color, which evokes fantasies and dreams. The narration is lyrical and I loved the rhymes because you can feel the love in them. This is a story that both mothers and daughters will enjoy. Girls will be able to read this story many times over with delight. Each sentence conveys appreciation. Sharon Purtill has created a book that will bring joy to many families.
