Duchess of Sin is the second book in the Daughters of Erin Trilogy. This book focuses on the middle sister, Lady Anna Blacknall. At the heart if the plot is the conflict between Ireland and England. The setting is 1799 Ireland. Anna craves excitement; the kiss of a handsome stranger is burned into her memory. Her search for excitement takes her to places where good girls do not go. It also unites her with Colan McTeer, The Duke of Adair. Colan has long desired Anna, while fighting for Ireland’s freedom.

Author Laurel McKee does an excellent job of creating characters that are entertaining yet multifaceted. Neither does she hesitate to give her secondary characters' dimension. Anna is a delightful character sure to please readers. The plot of Duchess of Sin is action, political intrigue, and romance. History is woven into a tapestry of romance. While this book stands well alone I find it much more gratifying to read a series in the correct order. I truly enjoyed this book. Laurel McKee is a talented author.
