Gus had two friends with the same name, Duck, but they were different from each other. While Duck enjoyed imitating machines, animals, and opera singers, the other Duck was quiet and thought a lot. The three of them - Gus, Duck, and Duck - were good friends and spent a lot of time together. Sometimes they were silly and sometimes they were quiet. They were adventurous and they encouraged each other and also helped each other. They hung out with other friends too and when they disagreed they tried to understand each other. They always held each other in their hearts because they were the best of friends.

Duck, Duck, Gus: A Story About Friendship by Judy Link Cuddehe is an adorable story of friendship between Gus, a moose, and two ducks, Duck and Duck. The story sets the tone of friendship for young readers, and the wonderful illustrations make the story and the characters tangible. It is a good bedtime storybook for parents and grandparents to read out to kids and grandkids and can be used in classrooms for read-aloud and storytelling sessions to help children understand the concept of friendship in a simple way. Storybooks like this are good to start kids reading initially as it pulls them into the story with lively illustrations and engaging characters. It is also nice to note the manner in which the author has given distinctive personalities to Gus, Duck, and Duck, making them memorable, real, and relatable to readers.
