Author Biography

Tori de Clare is UK author of Either Side of Midnight, a mystery/suspense thriller set in Manchester UK. It is currently in the adult and NA sections of the market. Tori's career has been in music. She has privately taught piano and theory of music for the last twenty-five years and is passionate about the Romantic Period, especially the works of Chopin and Rachmaninoff, which makes her sound very cultured, but the fact remains that she is the down-to-earth type who loves to laugh as much as possible. Mum of four and one of seven children, Tori finds little time for hobbies outside of family, reading, writing and teaching. Her very busy life gives her the perfect excuse to opt out of ironing and all forms of keep-fit. The only working out she currently does is how to avoid accompanying her husband to the gym. For ever. Daughter of two pianists, music was destined to be her career. Her father died when she was 18 and always aspired to being a writer. Either Side of Midnight is dedicated to him, and to her mum who taught her to play the piano.

Either Side of Midnight by Tori de Clare is a fantastic book. The story has mystery, suspense, romance, many twists and turns, an excellent plot, and very believable characters. Naomi Stone is a nineteen-year-old girl, who has just left home for the first time to attend a special musical college to perfect her piano playing skills. Her mom, Camilla, has a strong hold on Naomi and has always kept her sheltered and protected from the world. When Naomi meets Nathan, she instantly falls in love with him and, against her mother’s, her sister’s, and her friend’s advice, plans on marrying him. The night of the wedding turns into a horror story when she is kidnapped, drugged, and left for dead. Confused and scared, she next finds herself chained to a bed in a beautiful bedroom. The rest of the story you will have to read for yourself because I do not want to spoil the mystery or suspense.

This is Tori de Clare’s first novel but it is a winner in every sense of the word. Either Side of Midnight is a must-read book for all mystery and/or suspense lovers. The characters are very real and the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely loved how the good guys and the bad guys mixed so effortlessly together and I was never sure how it would end. Be prepared to miss a lot of sleep or fall behind on your chores because you will not be able to put down Either Side of Midnight until you reach the very last page. I rate this book as a ten-star and expect to see it as number one on the best selling list for many, many weeks.
