Did you know there's much to be learned from the movement of our bodies? Colleen Wahl is a renowned somatic movement educator and dance artist. In Embodied Knowing, the author shares stories from her own life and presents movement explorations to help readers become aware of their own bodies. She introduces the practical framework, the Embodied Knowing Model, for the symbiotic relationship between mind, body, and soul. Each chapter comes with reflection questions and "For You" prompts divided into categories of bodily experience, mental pondering, and spiritual meditation. Wahl recalls her experiences with boxing and how it refreshed her physical power and provided an outlet to channel her aggression. You will also learn about the body-mind relationship, different patterns of movement, expansion and contraction, dualism and materialism, the kinesphere, confidence and posture, and much more.
Embodied Knowing basically covers every aspect of how to truly benefit from body movement through somatic practices. I really enjoyed the book and found it very informative. What I like about it the most is how author Colleen Wahl uses stories from her own life to show readers patterns of movement that lead to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This book feels like it was written by someone clearly accomplished in the field of somatic therapy. I'm a hundred percent sure Wahl's insights and tips will help readers enhance their creativity, resilience, and self-awareness. The book also delves into meditation and other mindfulness practices. Anyone who is looking for something to maintain their health and overall well-being is bound to find this guide beneficial. It is thoroughly engaging, and I highly recommend it.
