In Enigma Jewels by Charles Breakfield and Rox Burkey, a private plane linked to human trafficking takes off at Luis Muñoz Marín Airport. Julian Lafluer had just lost the girls aboard the private plane and hired a teenager to drive through the city as fast as possible to make his escape. The CATS team is on the hunt for Julian to dismantle his entire operation. Two members of the CATS team visited Julian’s estate and discovered valuable jewels and a first edition of The Book of Buried Treasure stored in Julian’s safe. This book features hand-drawn maps illustrating the locations of sunken ships that lost precious cargo five centuries ago. The Caribbean is filled with unimaginable wealth hidden beneath the waves, and Julian is fixated on obtaining these jewels. The RT and CATS teams are in a time-sensitive race to bring Julian to justice.

Enigma Jewels by Charles Breakfield and Rox Burkey captivated me from the beginning to the end. Although it is the final installment in a series, it stands on its own without requiring knowledge of the previous books. The storyline is fast-paced and filled with action that keeps its grip on the reader. With the numerous twists and turns, I was constantly guessing what would happen next, making it impossible to put the book down. The characters were thoughtfully crafted and genuine. At times, I even found myself feeling sympathy for Julian as everything began to collapse around him. I had to remind myself of his involvement in human trafficking and his methods of silencing others to understand that he did not merit my sympathy. The story was skillfully written, and I rushed eagerly through the pages. This book far surpassed my expectations.
