In this captivating poetry collection, George H. Northrup explores the human condition through a wide range of themes. Everyone's Going features a collection of both intimate and observational poems that address topics related to the complexities of aging, death, loss, and grief. Each piece reflects the myriad emotions that make up the tapestry of life. Some of these poems showcase the last days of a loved one, the rigors of aging, clinging on to the last vestiges of a father's memories, feelings of dread and despair while battling a terminal illness, how a child perceives the loss of a loved one, and many more. 'Late-Stage American Hegemony' is a poignant poem illustrating the shifting morals and values of American society over the past few decades.
George H. Northrup has penned an evocative collection that leaves you with a lot to contemplate. The author masterfully combines personal narratives with societal ones to present a diverse poetry collection. These poems invite deep reflection on the human condition, focusing on themes of mortality, loss, and grief. They show how the brief span of human life stands in sharp contrast to the seemingly eternal nature of the universe. Although Northrup draws inspiration from his personal experiences, the existential themes ensure the collection will appeal to all readers. The author has a natural lyrical flair and distinctive voice in his poetry that is simply mesmerizing. It's powerful and resonates with your soul. Everyone's Going is a collection that I highly recommend to all poetry lovers.
