A man struggles to find answers to his past while unraveling an extortion scheme beneath the glamour of Reno in the thrilling novel, Fallen Star (The Divine Devils: Book 2) by R. Weir. When Hunter Divine first meets Hollywood royalty Meg Getz, he is instantly attracted to her sultry beauty. Having committed an indiscretion while in Reno, actress Meg is horrified to discover that somehow extortioners recorded the act and are now demanding money to keep them from selling her story to Hollywood tabloids and sending the video to her wealthy husband. The task seems easy enough; infiltrate the casino to find the man that seduced the actress and inform him his blackmailing days are over. Divine assembles his freshly mended team and flies to Reno. But, soon after he and his team arrive, they discover the glamorous Hollywood beauty may have been less than truthful about circumstances concerning the blackmail. When bodies start piling up, Hunter and his team become the target. Set up to take the fall, Hunter's team is in danger. Can he and his team survive the seedy nightlife of Reno?

In the intense novel Fallen Star by R. Weir, the Divine Devils are back for another case. Reno is exciting and glitzy without the Divine Devils, but when they gather in one of the most entertaining towns on earth, you can expect nonstop danger, action, and romance. Colorful fight scenes, lots of intimate encounters, and engaging subplots woven throughout the main story make this book unputdownable. At times I got frustrated with Hunter's attitude, but his loyalty to his team kept me from totally abandoning hope for him - for now. The characters and settings are vibrant and beautifully fleshed out, and the storylines are expertly drawn together, forming an astounding conclusion. As the second book in the Divine Devils series, it reads perfectly well as a standalone. With aspects of Reno at the heart of the story, there may be triggers for some.
