I've been reading bed time stories to my two boys ever since they were little. When my oldest son was three years old, he wanted me to tell him a bed time story about a turtle. I didn't have any storybooks in the house with a turtle as the main character, but I offered to make up a story for him. I asked him what he wanted me to call the turtle in the story and he said, "Fendley". I'm pretty sure he meant to say "Friendly", but I liked the name and Fendley Turtle was born that night.
Since then, I have told them countless Fendley Turtle stories. I have two dedicated fans that just love Fendley Turtle. It just made sense that my first book would be a children's book for them.

Fendley the turtle loves going to the grocery store with Daddy, and so does his little brother, Danny, but what’s going to happen on that trip? Both the little boys want to have fun and help Daddy get everything that they need, and with Momma’s list they should be able to get all of it with no problem. But Fendley is a little bit mischievous, even when he doesn’t intend to be, and sometimes that can get any little one into trouble. But will Fendley be able to keep himself out of trouble? Or will this trip turn into an opportunity to learn a new lesson in Fendley’s Trip to the Market?
This is the story of a little turtle who definitely learns a lesson. But he also has a whole lot of fun. After all, there’s no reason that someone can’t do both at the same time, right? Fendley’s Trip to the Market is all about a cute little character that any little one can relate to. After all, who hasn’t been a bit adventurous and a whole lot curious? If that describes your little one, they’re definitely going to feel just like Fendley, and they’ll be able to see what can happen if you’re not being careful. This book has some really cute and fun pictures that let you see what’s happening. Author Greg Flynn has captured the young audience here. Fendley is going to have a great day, but just what might happen during that day is going to be a surprise.
