After Eevee’s boyfriend breaks up with her when he goes off to college, she ends up in a downward spiral. Gone are her long locks, a pixie cut in its place, and now Eevee is also mouthing off to her teachers. In an attempt to get their daughter back, they hand Eevee an envelope left by her birth parents. Coupled with a card and baby picture, there’s a letter addressed to her for her 18th birthday along with a cryptic poem. Join Eevee in EL Holly’s Finding Fae, the first of what seems to be a magical and mystical series.
Where do I start? First, can I just say how much I love and hate Eevee’s character? Maybe it’s the quick thinker in me, but as soon as the clues started coming to light I could see the big picture. With Eevee, it took a bit of time, especially with her finding out that she is part fae. Throw in the fact that she’s now thrust into a world where all things she thought were part of fairy tales are true. It’s a bit of a culture shock, if you ask me. The development of Eevee’s story flowed smoothly, and the same can be said for the many other characters we were introduced to. I loved how EL Holly was able to capture the pure, mischievous nature of the fae with her characters in Finding Fae. It’s a definite 5 stars, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
