Finding the Missing Peace: A Healing Journey to Wholeness by Chris Duffy-Wentzel is a compelling autobiography you can't put down. What happens when an immuno-virologist is faced with a cancer diagnosis? It sets her on a life-or-death search for her birth parents. But something unexpected also happens, and it's a healing journey of the spirit. For almost 30 years, the author searched in vain for a way to unseal her adoption records, but conventional methods didn't work. She desperately needed her family's medical history, and then a dream revealed the key to the mystery. She needed to try a totally new approach. Her profession taught her to obey guidelines and what she could prove in a lab, and so she had to become her own private investigator of sorts in order to uncover the facts of her adoption and save her own life. Suddenly answers began to reveal themselves in a big way. As she followed the breadcrumbs, she discovered much more than just her biological history: she discovered healing for her inner self.

Author Chris Duffy-Wentzel has created a fascinating journey of self-discovery and peace, and it's all true. From the first page, you'll be hooked on her journey, and will arrive with her at the answers she's looked for, and perhaps those that you've looked for as well. The take-aways from this book are huge and impactful. Most people go through life not finding peace, but maybe they've looked in the wrong places. This author helps you get in touch with the inner you, and it takes a little peace and quiet to get there. I especially enjoyed getting to know Chris through her searching, the stories of her childhood growing up, and the people she met along the way. She didn't give up, even when it looked hopeless. There are lessons here for us all. Besides determination, her great sense of humor sparkles throughout the pages, as does her honesty and warmth. Few autobiographies are intriguing as Finding the Missing Peace: A Healing Journey to Wholeness by Chris Duffy-Wentzel.

Finding the Missing Peace: A Healing Journey to Wholeness is a work of non-fiction in the autobiography genre. It is suitable for the general reading audience and was penned by Chris Duffy-Wentzel. In this book, Chris tells us about the journey she undertook to investigate her past as an adoptee in order to understand herself and her place in the world better. Galvanized by the prospect of a life-threatening illness cutting her search short, Chris goes through the experience of exploration and healing on an emotional rollercoaster of a journey.

This was a deeply personal journey that the author has chosen to share with readers, one in which her honesty and spiritual insight shed a light on one of the darkest experiences a person can go through in the form of a potentially fatal illness. I’m very grateful that there are writers in this world like Chris Duffy-Wentzel who are not only willing to share their deeply personal experiences but have the wisdom to translate those experiences into prose which affects readers deeply. The mystery of the author’s past is enticingly laid out, and the obstacles thrown at her along the way kept me as a reader on the edge of my seat. Whilst each person’s experience with life is unique to them, I strongly believe that anyone reading Finding the Missing Peace will be able to relate to some of the feelings and experiences that the author describes. It is an exquisite piece of literature, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to all.

Finding the Missing Peace by Chris Duffy-Wentzel is an extraordinary book. The Universe and Spirit communicate with us in multiple ways. Our role is to recognize these signals and take action, for it is these messages that take us toward a life of true enlightenment and awareness. In the fall of 2009, what seemed like the perfect day for Chris Duffy-Wentzel soon turned into a nightmare. Her diagnosis of uterine cancer significantly changed the direction of her life in every way imaginable. Follow her journey to overcome a personal ordeal. It began as a search for her adoptive parents but resulted in spiritual enlightenment that changed her entire outlook on her past, present, and future. From upstate New York to Ganeshpuri, India, her quest for information about her cultural roots results in touching the hearts and lives of others. A true story of physical and emotional healing, spiritual awakening, and a journey of self-discovery.

Finding the Missing Peace by Chris Duffy-Wentzel is a touching memoir. The author writes from the deep recesses of her soul, and the emotions she expresses throughout the book are raw and brutally honest. The extensive detail in the backstories and portrayals of the people involved in her life, combined with the superb illustrations, presented me with an accurate picture of their mindset and motivation. The references to distinguished spiritual teachers, such as Eckhart Tolle, gave the story depth and validation. Each chapter is touching, and I especially appreciated Healing The Hungry Heart. It included incredible healing techniques such as NLP and spiritual insights. I thought this quote from the chapter was profound, “Courage is not the absence of fear ... but the recognition that there is something stronger and more powerful inside than the fear itself.” The effectiveness of the healing techniques and how recognizing and releasing subconscious blockages can have such a positive impact on your health is astounding. This memoir has many life lessons, lightbulb moments of awareness, and insights into how we unknowingly sabotage ourselves. By the end of the book, I felt emotionally, physically, and mentally soothed.

Finding the Missing Peace: A Healing Journey to Wholeness by Chris Duffy-Wentzel is an inspirational autobiography that contains the author's self-healing process and heartwarming and heartbreaking stories about her adoptive and biological families. Chris finds herself in a challenging situation. She needs to contact the Adoption Agency once again after she promised herself she would never reignite her search efforts. But the recent cancer diagnosis compels her to know about her birth mother's medical history. When the Adoption Agency refuses to give her information, Chris decides to take the matter into her own hands and find the truth through personalized methods. Finding the Missing Peace is an unforgettable read filled with beneficial lessons and resources that will inspire readers to create their own unique path to happiness and wholeness.

Finding the Missing Peace by Chris Duffy-Wentzel is a one-of-a-kind autobiography that shows how your healing process, both physically and emotionally, happens when you begin to piece yourself back together even though it requires you to embrace new beliefs, new methods, and a unique path. I enjoyed parts 3 and 4 the most as they contain great memories and moments immortalized in beautiful pictures. Some pages moved me to tears, and others frustrated me. Chris's mental toughness to keep going and her ability to honestly write about the atypical ways that helped her resolve the mystery that prevented the healing of her mind, body, and spirit is truly inspirational; her openness to turn to a medical medium, the power of visualization, and past-life regression therapy is quite intriguing. Finding the Missing Peace is definitely a must-read.

Finding the Missing Peace: A Healing Journey to Wholeness details an immuno-virologist's battle against a life-threatening diagnosis that takes her on a search to discover the details about her biological parents. Her search crosses the boundaries of science and logical reasoning to the vast possibilities that are unlocked by a message in a dream, psychic means, and other unconventional methods. Chris Duffy-Wentzel's story includes her diving into the tumultuous past of her adoptive parents, dealing with the rules that prevent access to the adoption records, protesting against religious discrimination and determining to find the "real truth" as a child, battling with food addiction, helping poor families grow and become independent, healing past hurt, volunteering in India, and discovering spirit-lifting paths.

I've found inspiring and touching stories about perseverance and courage, like Finding the Missing Peace, to be a powerful energy booster and motivator. If Chris Duffy-Wentzel could go on a daunting search for information about her adoptive parents that took up to three decades while faced with addiction and the possibility of an early death, then I have no excuse to give up! The book was truly enlightening as I learned several new concepts that channel the mind and soul toward peace and healing, of which the Siddha Yoga Meditation Path is one. Every revelation, quote, and research information made me eager for more. Chris's selfless nature, evident through her volunteering in different locations, inspired me to be more charitable. Readers will come to appreciate the value of looking inward and decluttering through Chris's search for answers and her path to forgiveness.
