Flipping the Circle by Michael Leppert is a political thriller that will leave you breathless. Will Courtney worked for 10 years in Indianapolis as a contract lobbyist and there isn’t much he doesn’t know about trading information and back-room deals. Deciding to turn life around for the better after his divorce, he plans to step off the merry-go-round until a contract with a tobacco company lands in his lap. A contract that will change everything. When he uncovers a scheme surrounding a state monopoly of e-liquid products, he quickly learns that malfeasance knows no bounds, going right up to the top in government. He opts for the Indiana Statehouse as his forum to blow the whistle on the corruption but discovers that he doesn’t know who he can trust. When love comes his way, he can finally see the path to leaving the Winner’s Circle and truly changing his life for the better.
Flipping the Circle by Michael Leppert is a stunning political thriller, delving into the ugly underbelly of government corruption. His personal experiences in the political system in Indiana shine through in the detail provided and the first-person context allows you a personal peek into the complexities of big money, corruption, and how it controls entire cities behind the scenes. The writing is concise and clear and the plot is fast-paced and full of action and twists. The characters are very well-developed into people you can relate to and may have you studying everyone involved in politics, second-guessing yourself as to who the bad guys are, who’s telling the truth, and who’s really pulling the strings. I have no doubt that this story is scarily accurate, that more of this goes on than we want to believe. This novel offers an entertaining yet chilling insight into a world you might previously have denied existed.
