Tambi is a successful business owner looking for love, which she finds in the form of Richard - or so she thinks. When Flipping The Script begins, Tambi has just summarily been dumped and kicked out of the home she shared with her cheating insecure ex. Tambi was his meal ticket and while he loved it, he was also intimidated by her success. So, as things like this tend to happen, Tambi moved on and found her happiness in the form of a big tall billionaire drink of water called Mark, much to the chagrin of Richard, whose upgrade (supermodel) turned out to be a downgrade (stripper). Micaela Dartson Hicken fantastically weaves together the lives of several prominent and not-so-prominent Texans in an impeccable fashion. The way the story goes from Mark and his Nana to Yvette and Brad and even Richard and Sunny is flawless. It feels as though the reader is watching a well-crafted film rather than a carefully woven story.
As Flipping The Script progresses, it becomes clear that, in addition to being a heartless jerk, Richard is also a bit on the crazy side. After kicking Tambi to the curb, he misses her and wants her back. I mean, who wouldn’t take back a guy who kicked them out and belittled their creative passion, right? When her success in life and love continues, it unhinges Richard and he vows revenge. The beauty of this story is in its telling, which Micaela Dartson Hicken does beautifully. The natural way the love story between Tambi and Mark unfolds is incredible and kept me smiling through much of the story. The secondary characters are all incredible, but particularly Rose and Yvette are a riot that will have you laughing each time they appear on page. Flipping The Script is a great story full of wonderful characters, love, suspense, and laughter.
