For the Love of Caramel by Kyle Richards is a recipe book of various desserts containing this sweet sugar-based ingredient: caramel. In the introduction, the author makes an attempt to describe the flavour of caramel and then he continues with a short history of this unique ingredient. Then he continues with presenting other cooking processes – caramelization - and well known candies from the caramel family, such as toffee for example, finishing off with some useful cooking tips. The main body of the book contains caramel based recipes from classic caramel and caramel bars to macadamia-nougat caramel or lemon angel cake with caramel sauce to name just a few. Each recipe has the necessary ingredients and a step-by-step description of the cooking process. There are also some pictures with the finished products that complete the book.

For the Love of Caramel by Kyle Richards is the perfect recipe book for dessert lovers, especially those who, like me, love caramel. It is a little cook book, very handy for when you feel like making a dessert, a book that should be in any kitchen. The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow. The short introduction and the photos complete the book as they not only give readers some useful information about caramel without being too overwhelming, but also show readers how some recipes should look. I enjoyed reading through all the recipes in the book, but I also tried some of them and my favourites so far are caramelized nuts and caramel corn.
