In this short but steamy novella, Callie is determined to surprise her husband, Brad, by planning a romantic evening to remind them both of the chemistry they have that has been put on the back burner since having kids and becoming empty nesters. She creates a huge plan that requires help from her best friend, who steps in to make sure everything is perfect for what Callie wants to do. Will Callie be able to pull everything off without a hitch and show Brad what they have been missing in their marriage? For the Love of Us by Kaylee Rose is a sizzling romance with some funny inner dialogue and heartwarming moments between a great couple.
For the Love of Us was a great mix between lightheartedness and a more serious atmosphere of fighting for a marriage, and overall, I enjoyed it. Although some of Callie’s inner dialogue was a bit cheesy, in my opinion, I could appreciate the steps she took to reignite the passion between her and her husband. This was a steamy read, with lots of flashbacks and fantasies from Callie as well as present moments between the couple. I liked how everything played out by the end, with both characters acknowledging the need for better communication; being married for so long doesn’t mean everything is always perfect. I would recommend For the Love of Us by Kaylee Rose to romance readers who are looking for a quick novella full of spice and chemistry between a married couple who have been together for more than twenty years.
