Frankie is a Possum Scout and his mother is the den leader. Frankie’s imagination tends to get away from him. When the other scouts are tying knots Frankie is imagining himself as an escape artist. He becomes tangled in his rope and does not earn his badge. The other scouts in the troop will advance from Pygmy to Shrew. Frankie did not earn his badge and cannot be a Shrew. If he wins the Pine Run 3000 he can earn enough points gain the rank of Shrew. His father wants to help him with his car but Frankie wants to do it all by himself.

This book teaches a valuable lesson. There are times when we all need help few of us are willing to ask. The illustrations make this book. Part of this book is in comic book form and part text. I enjoyed this story and so did my grandchildren.
