In Ghost Town by Anthony Pond, Ryan Jordan is out on horseback with his sister and father, exploring an old mining town. The wind blows eerily through the wooden buildings and the abandoned cemetery, sending a creepy vibe through all of them. Ryan doesn't want to show his fear of the ghosts that may be wandering about the town, so he teases Bekka, but when they settle in their camper van for the night Ryan must face his fears.

Ghost Town by Anthony Pond is a very short story about an old ghost town. On the outside, it is just a tale about people camping and exploring, but underneath, it's about facing your fears. Lots of people mask their fears by teasing others, and the main character, Ryan, does the same. The characters are well developed for such a short story and you do get to know them quite well. The plot is unique, a simple one, but with an ending that allows your imagination to run riot – the best kind of short story, in my opinion. The author clearly has a vivid imagination and a way with words that compels you to keep reading. You'll find yourself drawn into this story as the descriptive writing brings the scene alive in your head, allowing you to live the story and feel the fear. I enjoyed this story and I think anyone who picks it up will also enjoy it. It is just the right length to intrigue a reader and give them something to think about.
