Ghost Writer by Arjay Lewis is a paranormal novel with the undertones of a psychological thriller. The story follows Joe Riley, a once-successful thriller author whose divorce and writer’s block push him to retreat to a secluded cabin he has inherited. While struggling with loneliness, alcohol, and his crumbling confidence, Joe begins to hear strange noises and later finds finished pages he doesn’t recall writing. His confusion deepens when he encounters the ghost of a long-vanished novelist, who seems to be guiding him. As he digs into the ghostly author’s tragic past and his family’s mysterious ties to her, Joe discovers terrifying truths that threaten not only his career but also his sanity and survival. Can he figure out what happened before it is too late?

Author Arjay Lewis's suspenseful, terrifying thriller had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I was fully invested and wanted to know what happened to the dead writer and why she had a connection with Joe’s family. I loved the eerie atmosphere, sharp inhales, and the psychological drama. The intensity of the story was perfect. I can imagine reading it during Halloween for the perfect chills and thrills. Joe is a flawed protagonist. He is vulnerable and emotionally hurt, but desperate enough to overcome his fear to figure out what happened to his ghostly companion. The narrative was descriptive, perfect for creating a sense of dread and excitement in readers. There was never a dull moment in the story, and I enjoyed every second of it. I highly recommend Ghost Writer to readers who enjoy thrillers with a touch of horror.

Ghost Writer by Arjay Lewis is a supernatural suspense novel that maintains intrigue throughout. Joe Riley inherits a remote mountain cabin from his uncle, initially believing it is due to his enthusiasm for family vacations. He soon learns that a friend of his cousin vanished from the cabin years ago, which has led the family to avoid it. Following his divorce and with a book deadline approaching, Joe seeks solitude in the cabin. When pages begin appearing overnight, he attributes them to his own confusion. One morning, he discovers the ghost of the missing woman at his typewriter, intent on finishing her story. As Joe realizes he must solve her murder to survive, he faces increasing danger, with both his family and girlfriend becoming suspects and potential targets.

Arjay Lewis keeps you guessing as Joe Riley deals with the ghost of a famous author who vanished years ago, determined to get revenge before moving on. Ghost Writer is the kind of book that pulls you in and makes you notice every creak and shadow around you. Joe soon finds himself unsure of who to trust, and he can't control who shows up at the cabin. The story picks up speed as the danger intensifies, progressing from strange, ghostly visits to real threats of death. The twists keep coming, with the ghost and Joe's encounters getting more intense, and a murderer adding even more mystery. The characters feel real, and the suspense builds into a story you won't forget. I really enjoyed this supernatural mystery, with its constant surprises, tense moments, and a ghost who wants power and closure. If you like creative and chilling stories, I highly recommend this novel.

Arjay Lewis delivers haunting paranormal fiction in Ghost Writer. After the death of his uncle and agent, Joseph Riley inherits the cabin that holds fond memories of childhood retreats. Having lost his house in the divorce from his second wife, Joe hopes that the solitude in the mountains will cure his writer’s block and help him meet the deadline for his next book. Noises at night and extra pages added to his manuscript can be easily chalked up to alcohol-induced actions. Still, when he sees the shimmering image of a famous missing writer tapping away at the typewriter, Joe decides to investigate. The ghostly author is just as alluring as she was in life, and secrets buried for twenty years are ready to surface. Can Joe uncover the mystery, or will he be sucked into the life beyond?

Author Arjay Lewis captivates the reader's mind and imagination with a well-delivered story inspired by the beyond. Writing in the first-person from the perspective of a realistic and likable protagonist allows the reader to experience the character's inner thoughts and feelings. Descriptive sights and sounds enhance the pace while believable dialogue drives the plot. Supporting characters are also developed, lending a perfect balance to a well-written narrative full of character growth. Action scenes are well-choreographed, playing a pivotal role in the plot. Ghost Writer is one of those stories that you will want to read in one sitting, totally absorbed in the journey, page after page. Due to its sexual content, this book is recommended for more mature readers.
