Green Fire In The Night Sky by Lathish Shankar is a mystery novel about a woman who wakes up in the middle of the forest with injuries all over her body and does not know who she is. No matter how much she tries to think, she does not recall anything. Waldo, a handsome stranger, finds her and offers to help her find her way back home, but where does he begin? The pair is in Alaska, and the Northern Lights, known as the Aurora Borealis, are in the sky. The mysterious woman feels connected to the lights and thinks they have something to do with her predicament. In their search for answers, the woman and Waldo meet Scarlet, a police officer who offers to take up her case. Waldo lets the two women go. Unfortunately, Scarlet does not take the woman to the police station. Instead, she leads her to a mansion where a sequence of strange events reveals the woman's identity and why she was in the forest.

Green Fire In The Night Sky is a mind-bending read that perfectly blends paranormal and science fiction elements. I am impressed with Lathish Shankar's work because the story is unique and thought-provoking. Shankar has written a well-thought-out narrative that delivers an emotional message about acceptance and healing. All the characters are well-defined, and each plays an essential role in the main character’s story arc. Shankar gives clues throughout the book that do not make sense until the truth is revealed. The gradual build-up to the final revelation made the story intriguing and captivating. I recommend it to all mystery book lovers because this is a must-read.
