In Greener Grasses by Julie Cosgrove, Erin and Ellen are twins who have not been friends for many years. Erin, her husband, John, and their two teenage sons are an average everyday family. Ellen, her husband, Robert, and their three young daughters are well off and live the lifestyle of the rich. The problem is each sister is jealous of the other, believing that they are happier and have a much better life. When their mother dies, her will states they must spend two weeks together in the house and prepare it for sale. Erin and Ellen return to the house they grew up in, along with all of the memories they shared, having to clean up and sort things out. Neither twin is very happy about the situation. John and Robert try to play peacemakers, but the sisters really want no part of being together. The two weeks bring many changes into each of their lives as they struggle to make decisions for the future.
Greener Grasses by Julie Cosgrove is a Christian love story with just the right combination of love, family, and God to make it a warm and fuzzy read. I really enjoyed reading this story and seeing if love would return to the twins and their husbands. Greener Grasses had just the right amount of everything to make it seem very real. I shared in Erin and Ellen’s joy, sadness and hope. Julie Cosgrove added just enough of each element – anger, happiness, love, and God to make it a perfect combination for a happy afternoon of reading.
