Grid Wars is a work of fiction in the futuristic, action and science fiction sub-genres, and was penned by author K.C. Martin. We find ourselves in the year 2061, where pioneer Paul Wilson lives in a thriving digital paradise known as Grid World. This land of equality and prosperity stands in stark contrast to the physical world beyond it, where the murderous and furious Supreme Commander Chang resents those who have escaped into paradise. As Chang’s real-world powers rise, the danger to Grid World becomes more and more apparent, and soon a war threatens to destroy everything for Paul and those who followed him into utopia. What results is an action-packed science fiction adventure with plenty of suspense and thrills.

Author K.C. Martin has crafted an exciting novel with plenty of high-concept ideas and blockbuster action scenes, balancing the needs of science fiction fans perfectly. Although it is the conclusion to a wider trilogy, this novel in itself gives plenty of backstory and information on Paul Wilson and the world in which he lives, setting us up for an exciting wartime adventure tale with high stakes. The villains are truly evil and the threats of the soldiers are very frightening indeed, ramping up the tension as we wonder how our heroes will get out of this situation. Overall, I would highly recommend Grid Wars to readers who want plenty of action in their science fiction read, mixed with interesting digital concepts and plenty of great characters to either root for or despise.
