Happy on Death Island is a story about Bernie and Kitty and their adventure in the Land Down Under. Bernie is a hedgehog who has fame, money, influence, and power. However, those things alone cannot dispel the curse of being lonely. After leaving his beloved city to head to Australia with Kitty, he faces misfortune. Fortunately, he is given a second chance and explores Australia with Kitty. After making a foolish assumption, they run into trouble along the way. Nadim Beidoun creates unexpected adversaries for Bernie and Kitty to combat. It is here where they experience a twist that they could have never foreseen. As a fight and the adventure unfolds, the conclusion of the story may surprise you.
Happy on Death Island features a uniquely illustrated book cover, magnificent visuals, and a profound other works section. Nadim Beidoun's style is one to be admired, as a reader cannot help but become immersed in the realistic pictures that are featured in this graphic novel. This plot-based story is simplistic, making it an enjoyable read. It was cool how Nadim implemented anthropomorphism, as well as how Bernie and Kitty interacted with other creatures. It is easy to become enraptured by this tale because of sentences like "Jaws sawed space. Walls crushed bone. Water tore open and devoured flesh." Captivating artwork is shown on the following page to give you a deeper picture. You may read through this book more than once to increase your understanding of the entire plot.
