Happy Within by Marisa J Tayor is a fun and educational picture book for young children. This book is all about showing how every person is different and unique in their own way. It also radiates body positivity, mainly from being comfortable in their own skin, which is a very important lesson we need to teach children nowadays. Children must learn to accept people, no matter their differences. Happy Within does this in a fun and simple way, making it easier for them to understand the importance of this. So grab a copy of Happy Within so that we can shape a better future.
I loved every single page of Marisa J Taylor's Happy Within because it is packed with such important information I feel children should learn from a young age. Unfortunately, we live in a world that still discriminates against people based on skin color, but with the right resources, along with books like Happy Within, I'm confident that we can make a difference. Not only does this book highlight the importance of accepting each other, but it also promotes self-love, which is another significant lesson children should learn, and even some adults too!
The illustrations by Vanessa Balleza represent realistic children of different colors and races, as well as being super cute! I will most definitely be reading this book with my nephews when they are a little older, so the question is, will you do the same? There's no time like the present so pick up a copy of Marisa J Taylor's book, Happy Within.
