Have a Good Trip, Lucky! is written by Vida Gecas and illustrated by Lisa Alderson. It tells the exciting story of a dog named Lucky, who was once abandoned under a bridge in Conakry, Guinea. Despite his challenging start, Lucky's life took a positive turn when he was adopted by a young U.S. diplomat. However, his adventure doesn't end there. Lucky is about to embark on another journey as his adopted mother receives a transfer order for a job in Washington, D.C. Will Lucky successfully make the move to Washington, or will there be unexpected twists along the way? Discover the answers in this intriguing book that chronicles the adventures of Lucky the dog.

Have a Good Trip, Lucky! by Vida Gecas is more than just an adventure featuring a dog; it is an educational book wrapped in love and empathy. The story conveys themes such as family, care, and concern, as well as airport practices and good work ethics, including dutifulness, stewardship, orderliness, and cleanliness. The book emphasizes the importance of family, portraying it as a safe haven for love, care, and acceptance. It creatively teaches young readers about airport practices and proper work ethics. The glossary and fun facts at the end of the book allow readers to fully grasp the content, making it unique. The vibrant colors and illustrations bring each page to life, and the effective use of imagery and other literary devices enhances the overall quality of the book. This is a beautiful story that I highly recommend to young readers.
