The author captures the simple joys of daily life through the eyes of Bobo who is a fifth grade student. Whether it is Bobo's weekend or wrestling on television or church, everything in Bobo's life is reminiscent of many of our childhood days, making it easy to connect with the theme. Bobo leads a normal life like any other fifth grader and he has his family to protect him when he gets into trouble. The simplicity of living and finding happiness in daily and small things are the highlights of the book.
The book exudes a kind of warmth that will leave us with memories of our days when we were young and when life was simple and protected. Many chapters are written like verses, capturing the small details, heartfelt moments, and simple joys of living and daily life. It is a book that parents can keep in their personal collection. It is also a good book for school libraries and can be used for story-telling and read-aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries.
