Hop's Tales: The Kind Bunny by Evelina Ruimy follows Hop, a little bunny who enjoys going to school and telling his sister, Fluff, all about his awesome day there. Hop even meets a puppy named Ruff, who laughs at him for liking class a lot. Hop starts to feel embarrassed and somewhat worried about going back to school after that. His mother notices this and talks with him, reminding him that being mean says more about the speaker than it does about him. With her help, Hop begins to feel very confident again. But when Ruff suddenly begins to feel lonely, Hop must decide how he will respond. How do you think this heartfelt story will end?

What makes Hop's Tales: The Kind Bunny work well is how realistically it shows a problem that many children will understand. Being laughed at for something you like can make anyone start doubting themselves, and the book shows how that feeling can grow. Evelina Ruimy tells the story in a straightforward manner that young readers can easily follow, without it feeling like an overly complicated moral lesson. Hop’s mother plays an important role because she listens to him and offers gentle guidance, rather than brushing off his feelings. That moment helps Hop think about the situation differently, and young readers will understand this as well. Siski Kalla's soft watercolor illustrations match the warm tone of the book and help bring the characters to life. Overall, the story demonstrates how small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on the way kids treat one another. It's wonderful for young readers, parents, and even educators who want to encourage empathy and positive behavior in everyday situations. Great children's book.
