Devastatingly handsome, foreboding, protective, and arrogant best describe Cristaldo Luceres, casino mogul and Alpha of his pack. Finding a forever mate was always his desire, and one he thought unattainable until the Sirens drummer, Everly Affini, walked into his casino. The electrifying chemistry between them throws Everly off guard, especially since she has sworn to protect herself from controlling men. Despite her reluctance to give in to the growing connection, Everly finds herself drawn to the magnetic pull of Cristaldo. In Howl: Sin City Wolf, Book 1, January Bain describes how their relationship develops from an intense sexual drive to a deeper understanding of each other. But nothing lasts forever as outside forces work to separate the pair and someone else steps in to claim Everly as his own.
The moment I started reading Howl, I could not put it down. January Bain does an amazing job of capturing the headstrong personalities of these two characters. The storyline was impressive. However, Everly's character seemed wilful in the beginning, and then she just timidly goes along with whatever Cristaldo says when he wants to keep her safe. I would have preferred it if she put up a bit more of a fight, considering no one has ever challenged him before and he's used to getting what he wants. Their connection and attraction to each other are remarkable. I found the explicit language used to describe their sexual feelings on the mature side. Anyone looking for a riveting book to read should not pass this book by. Looking forward to the next installment.
