Author Biography

Mary J. Williams is an author from Washington State who went to school in a small town on the Columbia River. She loves writing, reading, and football. She always wanted to write a novel and she always knew it would be a romance novel. But it wasn’t until her favorite football team lost the Super Bowl on the last play with an interception, that this dream began to come to fruition. She was so depressed that she tuned out all the media. Without television, internet, or newspapers, she had nothing else to do, so she sat down and started writing. Her first romance series, Harper Falls contains four books. Mary has released two new series in 2016, Hollywood Legends and One Pass Away (which combines her love of football with her love of romance).

True love. Unbridled passion. Rose wrote award winning songs about these things, wrote with confidence and humor. But to experience anything close to it was an alien concept to her. And she liked it that way. In her world, self-control was essential. To allow emotion to rule her body and brain could lead to dangerous disappointments. She had seen enough of the destruction carved in the path of affairs of the heart. When her best friends suggested that to get out of her creative slump, Rose needed a good roll in the hay, she halfheartedly played along.

Always the one to call the shots, Rose was not prepared to tackle the task of Jack Winston. So unlike her normal date persona, Jack was anything but average. His good looks, charming conversation, and cavalier attitude made him the perfect match to Rose’s indifferent perspective on romance. She was just in it for the sex, a fact she made perfectly and consistently clear to an increasing amorous Jack. Little did she know how important he would become to her life and happiness. But Jack knew from day one that they were meant to be.

Mary J. Williams has created the perfect marriage of romance and sexual tension in this contemporary romance. The chemistry between main characters Jack and Rose is evident from the start with their entertaining dialogue and cat and mouse game of physical attraction. Not normally a fan of heated romance, I found this story a lot of fun and cannot wait to continue my Harper Falls journey. So glad this is a series. If I Loved You, Harper Falls Book One is a must-read for a rainy day. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
